The death toll on the Tulla Nishitha and Udayan Express at Mandabag railway station in Kasba Upazila of Brahmanbaria has risen to sixteen. Among sixteen five people have been identified,
Three people, including the driver of the Tulla Express, were fired for disobeying the signal. Five investigative committees have been formed to investigate the incident. Meanwhile, the train movement was normalized on the Dhaka-Chittagong route about 8 hours after the collision.
Meanwhile, President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed their condolences over the casualties in the train collision. Also on Tuesday (November 12th), the Speaker of the Parliament Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury said mourning the accident.
The clash took place between Tulla Nishitha and Chittagong-bound Udayan Express trains from Chittagong at Mandabag in Kasba Upazila of Brahmanbaria on Monday (November 11) at 2.48 pm. At this time, several cargo of one train goes over several other buggies in another train.
16 dead body recovered:
The death toll rose to sixteen. In addition, more than half of the injured were reported. More casualties are being feared in the accident. Kasaba Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Masud ul Alam confirmed the matter on Tuesday.
Driver dismissed with three:
The driver of the Tura Nishitha accidentally disobeyed the signal and went to the wrong line. The driver, assistant driver and director (guard) of the train were all suspended temporarily due to the accident. Additional Director General of Operations Mia Jahan confirmed the dismissal on Tuesday morning.
Five Investigation Committees:
Railway Minister Nurul Islam Sujan said five inquiry committees have been constituted in connection with the train collision. He said that a total of five investigation committees have been constituted from the Railway Ministry, one from the Railway and one from the Public Administration. The railway minister said this while visiting the accident site.
Volunteer Support :
Food, medicines and water are being provided to the passengers who were stranded in the buggy in a train accident at Brahmanbaria. The injured were rushed to different hospitals. Local Awami League, Jubo League and volunteer league leaders are providing food and water to the trapped passengers under the direction of law minister Anisul Haque.

The government will compensate:
Railway Minister Nurul Islam Sujan visited the accident site in Kasba on Friday. He said that the families of the victims will be compensated by Tk one lakh. And the injured will be paid Tk 10,000 each.
Train running after 8 hours:
After the two-train collision in Kasba, the train movement between Chittagong and Dhaka and Sylhet has been normalized after the line reform. Eastern Railway's General Manager (GM) Nasir Uddin Ahmed said the train was normalized around 8am on Tuesday.
President, Prime Minister and Speaker mourn:
President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed their condolences over the casualties in a train collision in Brahmanbaria. They expressed deep sympathy for the injured people in separate condolence messages.
